We invite you to discover how a handful of our Henry David Thoreau Scholars link their love of the environment to formal studies in engineering, law, marine studies, political science, ecological conservation and languages. In many cases, Scholars are also involved in community service and extracurricular activities, and find themselves traveling around the world and coming home with lifelong connections.

Julie Erickson, on exchange in Costa Rica, with children from her host family in Santa Elena. The town is adjacent to the Monteverde cloud forest.
