An internship is one more way of expanding your environmental perspective and fine tuning your skill set for employment opportunities. An internship is also a fantastic way to explore a place you've always dreamed of visiting. To this end, Henry David Thoreau Scholars are expected to secure and complete an internship in the environmental field, which commonly occurs between their junior and senior year. Upon approval by the Selection Committee, students are eligible for a $1,000 stipend for their environmental internship.

The Thoreau Foundation does not act as an internship placement agency and operates independently from organizations offering internship opportunities. Here is a list of resources that might help with an internship, scholarship, fellowship, or career search.
